A little mermaid tucked away for the first week of our StarDust art collective's ( @stardustartists ) #Mermay challenge (a play on words combining the word ‘Mermaid’ with the month of May).
Theme no. 1 was ‘Shell’ !🐚
Week two has already started, and I'm still a bit behind schedule, but the days are getting calmer, so I'm slowly coming back ;)

Une petite sirène bien cachée pour la première semaine du challenge #Mermay [ jeu de mots en anglais mêlant le mot "Sirène (Mermaid) avec le mois de mai (May) ] de notre collectif artistique StarDust ( @stardustartists) dont le thème N°1 était : "Shell / Coquillage" 🐚
La semaine deux a déjà commencé, je suis encore toute décalée mais les jours deviennent plus ""apaisants"", je reviens doucement ;)

🇫🇷 ☉ Vous commencez peut-être à comprendre que je suis de plus en plus encline à dériver mes travaux en série (on peut dire une "serial artiste" [?]) et voici le début d'une série commencée à l'occasion d'un évènement In The Pocket du @groupementintensite , en mars dernier.
Pourquoi Oeuvre au Noir ?
☉ Un clin d'oeil au parcours de l'alchimiste en quête de sa pierre philosophale, son alkalhest et de ses trois grandes étapes : l’œuvre au noir, l’œuvre au blanc et l’œuvre au rouge ( à y ajouter parfois, l'oeuvre au jaune)
☉ La matière noire/matière sombre, cette substance hypothétique invisible qui compose une grande partie de l'Univers
☉ Un défi personnel d'inverser mon processus créatif habituel qui est de noircir des pages blanches

🇬🇧 ☉You may be beginning to realise that I'm increasingly inclined to turn my work into a series (you might say a 'serial artist'[?]) and here's the start of a series I began at an In The Pocket event organised by Groupement Intensité last March.
Why "Oeuvre au Noir"?
☉ It's a reference to the alchemist's quest for his philosopher's stone, his alkalhest, and its three main stages: the blackening (black work : "oeuvre au noir" in french), the whitening and the reddening (to which we can sometimes add the yellowing)
☉ Dark matter, that hypothetical invisible substance that makes up a large part of the Universe
☉ A personal challenge to reverse my usual creative process, which is to blacken white pages

![🇫🇷 Hier, à 23h59, se terminait le concours du @weekandart sur le thème du #Solarpunk !
Bien que je n'ai pas été autant présente devant mon dessin que prévu, je ne regrette absolument rien et suis plutôt contente de l'avoir mené jusqu'au bout 😊 !

-☀️ SolarPunk -
Une ville en effervescence pour la fête du Soleil - les habitants se donnent rendez-vous à de nombreuses manifestations et, pour l'occasion, les montgolfières et ballons s'envolent comme chaque année en répandant des couleurs et merveilles d'ingénierie écologique dans le ciel pour commémorer la nouvelle ère qui a débuté deux siècles plus tôt.
On s'échange des plants de végétaux, jamais de fleurs coupées, l'air est pur et la légèreté constante.
Des décors inspirés de la nature et du style Art Nouveau ainsi que des clins d'œil aux ambiances Mayas/Aztèques et Incas pour lesquelles le Soleil avait une importance primordiale - des sacrifices furent nécessaires pour bâtir ce monde mais rien n'est à regretter.
🇬🇧 Yesterday, at 11.59pm, the Solarpunk-themed @weekandart competition came to an end!
Although I didn't get as much time in front of my drawing as I'd hoped, I have absolutely no regrets and I'm quite happy to have seen it through to the end😊!
-☀️Solarpunk-
The city is abuzz with activity for the Festival of the Sun - the locals get together for numerous events and, for the occasion, hot-air balloons and balloons take to the skies as they do every year, spreading colour and marvels of ecological engineering across the sky to commemorate the new era that began two centuries ago.
Plants are exchanged, never cut flowers, the air is pure and the lightness constant.
The décor is inspired by nature and the Art Nouveau style, with nods to the Mayan/Aztec and Incan cultures for whom the Sun was of paramount importance - sacrifices had to be made to build this world, but there are no regrets.

🇬🇧 The gentle winged quiver of hidden calls -
Receive the message, observe the echoing sounds, listen to the nuances whispered by the colours 🦋
[It was supposed to be an occult goddess bearing a hermetic message for the @stardustartists ' October auction, but the brushstrokes were completed late 😅 ]
As a bonus, a short video of the freshly varnished paint - which also shows my habit of extending the paint along the sides of the canvas - BUT, haha... the varnish seems to have "torn off" bits of paint, there are tiny holes, so I'll have to correct a few more details!

En bonus, une petite vidéo de la peinture fraîchement vernie - qui montre en plus la manie que j'ai de prolonger la peinture sur les côtés de la toile - MAIS, haha... le vernis semble avoir "arraché/emporté" des p'tits bouts de peinture, il y a comme des trous minuscules dooonc, je vais devoir corriger encore quelques détails !

But wait : I'm not going to take up the challenge of one drawing a day, there will be drawings taken from words on various lists, often mixed together (those of you who have followed my previous adventures in these October inks will be used to this 😉), there will be days missing, days skipped, maybe days late or maybe days right on time. And sometimes days that just won't happen (that's for the melodramatic touch, haha).
Simply because I don't want to be in the rush, because I've got things to do on the side but I still want to take part a little 🎃

🇨🇵 Et un dessin pour l'inktober, un !
Attention, attention : je ne vais pas relever le challenge d'un dessin par jour, il y aura des dessins issus des mots de listes diverses, souvent mixées ensemble (celles et ceux qui ont suivi mes précédentes aventures de ces encres d'octobre sont habitué.e.s 😉) il y aura des jours manquants, des jours sautés, peut-être des jours en retard ou peut-être des jours piles à la bonne date. Et parfois des jours qui ne se lèveront pas (ça, c'est pour la touche mélodramatique haha)
Tout simplement parce que je n'ai pas envie d'être dans le rush, parce que j'ai des choses à faire à côté mais que je veux tout de même y participer un peu🎃
